Predictive Analytics – Customer Retention Analysis in a Subscription Meal Delivery Service

In customer-centric businesses an important measure of the value of a company is the value of its customers. Quantifying the value of your customer base is an exceeding complex task. Our speaker Rick Randall will introduce:

the concept of Customer Lifetime Value (CLV or LTV), the value proposition in a subscription-based business model, and the key component of LTV, customer retention. Rick will explain how meal delivery services, such as Blue Apron, Hello Fresh, and FreshRealm approach customer retention.

He will introduce current approaches to customer retention analysis as well as ‘Customer-Based Corporate Valuation’ (CBCV) techniques used to value publicly-traded companies with publicly available data. Rick will show how this approach enables robust sales forecasting and the valuation of newly-acquired customers. Rick will also demonstrate these approaches on a Python stack using Jupyter notebooks and the scikit-learn toolset.
